Welcome to Tara’s Early Preschool Classroom
Preschool for Children 2 1/2 Years – 3 Years
Welcome to Moon Valley Prep’s Preschool Program, tailored for children aged 2 1/2 to 3 years old. As these young learners transition from toddlers to preschoolers, our curriculum places a strong emphasis on continued social and emotional skill development. Alongside these essential foundations, we introduce exciting concepts in math, science, language, literacy, movement, and more to spark curiosity and a love for learning.
In the Preschool Program, children will experience a balance between structured activities and free play, fostering a dynamic environment that caters to their individual needs and interests. As they navigate through this phase, preschoolers will encounter more structured routines and engaging activities designed to instill a sense of responsibility. At Moon Valley Prep, we believe in nurturing the whole child, and our Preschool Program is designed to create a supportive and stimulating atmosphere where learning is a joyful adventure both indoors and outdoors.
Children in the MVP Preschool Program Program enjoy:
Circle Time with Songs and Movement: Children engage in daily circle time, fostering a sense of community through lively songs and interactive movement activities. This ritual not only promotes social bonding but also introduces essential early literacy and motor skills.
Center-Based Activities: Our preschoolers delve into diverse center-based activities, exploring themed stations that encompass language development, mathematical concepts, and scientific exploration. These activities are carefully designed to stimulate cognitive growth and foster a love for learning.
Language, Math, Science: Structured sessions in language, math, and science form the core of our Preschool curriculum. Through age-appropriate activities, children embark on a journey of discovery, building foundational skills and cultivating a curiosity for the world around them.
Group Discussions: We foster open communication to encourage critical thinking. Our preschoolers’ group discussions are a key way for these young minds to express their thoughts, share ideas, and develop effective communication skills in a supportive environment.
Sensory and Art Exploration: MVP Preschoolers unleash their creativity through sensory-rich and artistic exploration. From tactile experiences to expressive art projects, these activities not only enhance fine motor skills but also encourage self-expression and imaginative thinking.
Dramatic Play: Imagination takes center stage during dramatic play sessions. Preschoolers engage in role-playing and imaginative scenarios, fostering creativity, social skills, and an understanding of the world around them in a playful and supportive setting.
Outdoor and Free Play: Our Preschoolers enjoy the benefits of outdoor and free play, promoting physical health, gross motor development, and a sense of well-being. Our outdoor spaces provide a safe and stimulating environment for exploration and active play.
Learn How to Cleanup: Instilling responsibility from an early age, children in our Preschool Program actively participate in cleanup activities. This valuable skill not only contributes to a tidy environment but also instills a sense of pride and cooperation.
Lunch & Snack Time: Mealtime in our Preschool Program is a social and nourishing experience. Children come together for shared meals, promoting healthy eating habits, social skills, and independence as they practice self-feeding.
Personal Attention: In our commitment to individualized learning, each child in the Preschool Program receives personal attention from our dedicated staff. This ensures that their unique needs and strengths are recognized, fostering a positive and supportive learning experience.
Tons of Affection: Above all, our Preschoolers are enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and affection. Through hugs, encouraging words, and nurturing interactions, we create a secure and positive environment where every child feels valued and cherished as they embark on their educational journey.
